Communal bins

Most estates have communal recycling bins. These are large mixed recycling bins for putting loose, unsorted recyclable materials in.

We keep the recycling bins locked to help prevent things that cannot be recycled being put into them. Open bins can attract large bags full of general rubbish, builders’ rubble and other waste that we cannot recycle.

If you are a landlord and want to help avoid contamination in recycling, we've provided information including posters, leaflets and communication advice for your tenants.
