Double check your parking ticket before paying

We have had some reports of fake parking tickets (PCNs) left on vehicles in Islington and neighbouring boroughs.

If you get a PCN, please check:

  • it has the Islington Council logo, crest and 'for a more equal future' in the top-right on the front
  • the back has instructions on how to pay including the web address islington.gov.uk/pcnpay - if you use this, you will see a green band at the top with our logo
  • the back also tells you how to challenge a PCN
  • it has a detachable slip that says "do not pay the civil enforcement officer"

Our PCNs do not have a QR code that you scan with your phone camera to pay. Do not scan any QR code on a PCN.

Buy or renew a business parking permit

Find out how to apply for a business parking permit if you are a business based in an Islington property you don't live in, and pay business rates.

How a business parking permit works

You can apply for a business parking permit if:

  • you are a business based in Islington
  • occupying the premises for non-residential purposes and
  • registered for business rates.

The council will only issue business permits to vehicles that are essential to the running of your business.

Number of permits and vehicle allowance

Each business can apply for up to two permits.

A permit may have up to three vehicles on it but the permit can only be used for one vehicle at any one time.

To park two vehicles at a time you will need to buy a second permit.

Using a business permit

This permit allows all-day parking in any available business or business shared use parking bay within your Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) only.

Read the terms and conditions you need to agree to when purchasing or renewing a business permit.
