Information required
We understand when completing the application that you are asked to share your experiences and that may be difficult to relive.
The application process aims to minimise the need to relive past trauma. Its focus is determining whether the requirements of the scheme are met. It does not require applicants to be subjected to analysis of intimate details of the abuse.
The application form sets out the information and material required to assess an application. An applicant may, however, submit any further, additional information or material that they wish to. This could include information available from the Islington Survivors Network (ISN), photographs or other documentation.
Care records
You do not need your childhood care records to apply for the scheme, although you can apply for your records, if you would like to see them. To do this, you need to submit a 'subject access request' on Islington Council's website.
