Parking for disabled people and the Blue Badge scheme
How and where to park as a disabled person in Islington including applying for and renewing a Blue Badge, free resident permits and what to do if your Blue Badge is lost or stolen.
Blue Badge permit to drive in your low-traffic neighbourhood
If you are an Islington Blue Badge holder and live in a low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN), you may be able to apply for a permit that lets you drive within your LTN area at any time.
Who can apply
You can apply for an LTN exemption permit if you:
- are a Blue Badge holder living within an LTN
- have access to a vehicle that you use for transportation
The permit can be used for one vehicle that must either be registered to your address or be nominated as a vehicle that you use often.
How it works
The LTN permit is on our system so you don’t need to display anything in your car.
The registered vehicle can drive through traffic filters in its home LTN when the driver or passenger is the Blue Badge holder.
If the Blue Badge holder is not driving or a passenger in the vehicle when it goes through a traffic filter, we will issue a moving traffic ticket (penalty charge notices or PCN).
