Collection of electrical items
Residents can book a free home collection for large electrical items. This service is provide by AnyJunk in partnership with the North London Waste Authority (NLWA). Collections take place in Islington on Thursdays. Book an AnyJunk collection.
If you cannot take electrical items to one of the NLWA reuse and recycling centres, you can book a bulky waste collection instead.

Other ways to recycle your unwanted items
- Freegle to give away and seek unwanted goods in your local area.
- TippTapp your item is in a good condition someone who can reuse it will pick it up at no cost.
- Use the Recycle Electricals national directory to find your nearest recycling or donation points.
Recycling banks for small electrical items
These banks can recycle any electrical item that is small enough to fit in the chute such as hairdryers and two-slice toasters. (The size of most of the bank chute holes is 520mm x 510mm).

What you can recycle at these banks
Items you can recycle at electrical banks include:
- any small items that have a plug or require batteries
- kitchen appliances such as kettles or toasters
- audio-visual equipment such as CD players, digiboxes and remote controls
- bathroom equipment such as shavers and electric toothbrushes
- DIY tools
- phones
- chargers
Items should be small enough to fit through a chute hole that is 520mm by 510mm.

Take back electrical items to a shop
Large electrical retailers are have to take back waste electrical items at their shops by law, but a product can only be returned when you buy another one. Check with your chosen retailer for more details.
