Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) price increase

All London Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) will be increasing from Monday 7 April 2025. PCNs are designed to deter anti-social and obstructive parking, reduce congestion and make London’s streets clearer and safer.

Payments unavailable on Tuesday 8 April, 9.30am-4.30pm

You will not be able to make any online payments on Tuesday 8 April, 9.30am-4.30pm while we carry out essential maintenance.

This will affect all online payments, including parking permits, parking tickets (PCNs), council tax and rent payments. You will also not be able to make payments using our automated payment line 020 7527 8000 or by calling 020 7527 2000.

If you need to make a payment, please try again after 4.30pm on Tuesday. We are sorry for any inconvenience while we carry out this essential work.

Documents you will need when you buy a parking permit

You need to upload photos of your documents when you buy a permit in your parking account for the first time. You only need to give document proof once, or until you change vehicle or address.

We may ask you to upload proof again at any time. This is in our parking terms and conditions.

One proof of address

  • A council tax, energy, water or landline phone bill dated within the last three months
  • Driving licence registered at your current address
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Department for Work and Pensions letter dated within the last six months.

One proof of vehicle ownership

  • Car insurance schedule document
  • Registration document (V5)
  • Hire agreement.

If you don't have documents yet

You should upload your documents when you buy your first permit.

If you don't have the required documents yet, you must upload them within 20 days after buying your permit. If you don't do this, your permit will be cancelled and you will have to buy a new one as soon as you have documents. You will have to park your vehicle somewhere else until you buy a permit again.

If you have a company car

Residents with a company vehicle must upload a copy of the vehicle registration document (V5) or copy of the lease agreement and a letter, written on the company's headed stationery, stating:

  • that the applicant is an employee of the company
  • the vehicle registration mark/number
  • a reason for providing the vehicle to the employee
  • the Islington address where the vehicle will be parked.

The letter must be signed and dated by the company secretary or an authorised officer of the company. This must not be the applicant.
