Where to find public toilets
There are nine public toilets in Islington:
- Seven automated, fully accessible toilets, open 24-hours a day. Unfortunately six of these toilets are currently closed because of misuse, but we are working hard to bring them back into use. Work has started to refurbish these toilets and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025.
The toilets are located at:
- Holloway Road - junction of Holloway road / Camden Road, N7 ORN. Currently closed
- Seven Sisters Road - junction of Seven Sisters and Fonthill Road, N4 3GG. Currently closed
- Highbury Crescent - Highbury Crescent (near Highbury Pool), N5 1RN. Currently closed
- Highbury Fields - next to tennis courts Highbury Grove. Currently closed
- Newington Green - Newington Green, N16 9PX
- Islington Green - Essex Road, N1 8DU. Currently closed
- City Road - junction of City Road/Central Steet, EC1V 8AY. Currently closed
- One accessible toilet with an attendant at Chapel Market.
- On weekends, you can find a pop-up urinal at Cowcross Street, outside The Hope pub. This is available from Friday evenings until Sunday afternoon.
There are three Changing Places toilets that are larger and have special equipment, like hoists and adult-sized changing benches. They are located at Sobell Leisure Centre, Brickworks Community Centre, and 222 Upper Street.
You can find a list of over 50 public toilets on the Toilets4London app. This includes toilets in council buildings like the Town Hall and libraries.

Improving public toilets
We are working to make our public toilets better and more accessible. We have added three new Changing Places toilets and are building a fourth one at Islington Green. This webpage will be updated when it is open.
