Payment system unavailable on Wednesday 13 August, 9.30am to 3.30pm

You will not be able to make any payments online or by phone on Wednesday 13 August, 9.30am to 3.30pm, while we carry out some important work on our payment system.

This means you won't be able to pay for things like parking permits, parking tickets (PCNs), council tax and rent through our website, automated payment line (020 7527 8000) or customer services number (020 7527 2000).

We are very sorry if this affects you. If you must make a payment, please try to do it on another day if you can or after 3.30pm on Wednesday 13 August.

Play Streets

Find out how you can shut your street to traffic for up to three hours a week so children can play safely.

Play Streets promote children’s health and wellbeing by giving them the freedom to have fun and play safely ‘on their doorstep’. They also give greater priority to pedestrians and help to raise awareness of air pollution.

  • your street can be closed to all traffic, except residents
  • Play Streets can only happen during daylight hours
  • there's no charge
  • we can supply signs and equipment
  • a great way to meet your neighbours.

How you can start a Play Street

Before you apply to have your road closed, you first need to:

  • talk to all your neighbours and explain what you want to do
  • explain that as residents they’ll still be able to park and drive slowly when the street is shut
  • there will be consultation done by us, so you need as many resident supporters as possible
  • recruit a team of people to help you on the day.
