Local land charges are rules about the land your property is on and will affect any later owner of the property too.
Full searches for local land charges can tell you about restrictions on planning that may affect the property.
The Local Land Charge Search (LLC1) Register lists all the land charges on the property.
The Con29R search will also tell you extra information about upcoming decisions, planning applications that have been turned down or service charges that are applied to the property.
For example, a local land charge search could show that:
- a loft extension, built three years ago, doesn't have planning permission and may have to be put back to its original state
- there is a financial charge that you need to pay to the council as the owner of the property.
