Safer Islington Partnership

What the Safer Islington Partnership does and its current priorities.

The Safer Islington Partnership (SIP) coordinates work on crime reduction and community safety in Islington.

The council is a lead authority in this partnership, which also includes the police, London Fire Brigade, health sector, probation services and representatives from the voluntary, community, faith, and business sectors.

The Chair of the partnership is the Executive Member for Community Safety.

The partnership decides on local priorities for tackling crime and anti-social behaviour and develops plans and strategies in response. 

The current priorities for this partnership are:

Every year the partnership carries out a strategic assessment of crime in the borough, this is then used to determine local priorities. The work of delivering on these priorities is devolved to partnership subgroups which specialise in specific issues such as those listed above.
