Business improvement district ballots

Find out about upcoming and results of ballots for business improvement districts (BID) that let businesses have a say in developing local improvement plans.

Business improvement districts (BIDs) let businesses in an area develop local improvement plans. BIDs work together with partners to provide additional or improved services, such as extra safety, cleaning or environmental measures.

How a Business Improvement District works

Eligible businesses vote in a BID ballot to decide if they want to set up a district.

Most of the funding for any improvements and changes is provided from a levy. Sometimes funding comes from other public and private funding streams.

You can find out more information about BIDs on GOV.UK.
