  • On Saturday 23 November between 9am–5pm you will be unable to view your council tax, council tax support and housing benefits accounts or documents while we upgrade our systems.
  • On Monday 25 November between 6–11pm our online parking services will be unavailable. During this time, you won’t be able to review or pay for parking tickets or buy parking permits or visitor vouchers.

Locating friends and relatives

We sometimes receive enquiries from the public who want to locate friends or family who they believe may be living in Islington.

The Data Protection Act 1998 does not allow us to confirm or deny the whereabouts of people to other members of the public without the consent of the person being sought. However, we may be able to pass on a message if we have their contact details on our systems.

There are other ways that the public can try and trace people. Here are some examples:

Finding missing people

  • Metropolitan Police - telephone: 101
  • Missing People - works with young runaways and missing and unidentified people. Telephone 116 000 (freefone)
  • British Red Cross - relatives separated by wars or disasters. Telephone: 0844 871 11 11
  • Reunite - specialising in abduction and international custody disputes. Telephone: 0116 2555 345
  • Salvation Army - tracing adult relatives in the UK and overseas. Telephone: 0845 634 4747

 Tracing family history

  • GOV.UK - order birth, marriage and death certificates.
